Handmade Gold & 925 Sterling Silver Greek Boho Bee Coin Necklace & Chain
Handmade Gold & 925 Sterling Silver Greek Mythology Boho Bee Coin Necklace Pendant, 18” Chain
Based on a Greek coin from approximately 390-380BC, this necklace is the epitome of ‘antique-meets-modern’ jewellery.
The honey bee is an emblem of the city Ephesos (the E and O are an abbreviation of Ephesos), and represents prosperity and success.
This vintage style necklace was made by firstly making a hand-rolled mould of an original Greek coin, pouring in liquid wax, and using this new wax master to create more modernised interpretations, with the Lost Wax Casting method.
Made in either sterling silver with an 18” sterling silver chain, or brass with an 18” gold plated chain.
Established in 2016, Welsh brand Melyn Jewels is your go-to destination to find unique British jewellery online.
At Melyn Jewels, how is jewellery made? All pieces start life as an idea and a sketch, which is then created in wax by using a large assortment of tools and materials -from scalpels to flames! This wax design is then cast into a raw piece of sterling silver, bronze or brass, which finally requires polishing, tumbling and finishing. It’s a long, hands-on process, but an exciting one to experience.
Melyn Jewels endeavours to hand craft unique, boho and affordable jewellery in Pembrokeshire, with a nod to antique and vintage styles of bygone eras from all around the world.
As each piece is individually handmade, there may be very slight differences in appearance found - ultimately further adding to their uniqueness.
Following UK law, each sterling silver piece weighing above 7.78g will be hallmarked by one of the four UK independent Assay Offices.
